El Registro de Direcciones de Internet para América Latina y el Caribe 
(LACNIC) se complace en invitarlos a participar del encuentro LACNIC 
CARIBE II que tendrá lugar los 16 y 17 de Julio de 2009 en el hotel 
Hyatt de Puerto España, Trinidad y Tobago. El encuentro será precedido 
por la Vigésimo quinta conferencia anual de Asociación del Caribe de 
organizaciones de telecomunicación nacionales (CANTO).

Los eventos de LACNIC son la oportunidad de discutir sobre actividades 
recientes realizadas, iniciativas y propuestas con miembros y 
representantes del sector, con el propósito de construir y articular los 
esfuerzos colaborativos para el desarrollo y la estabilidad de Internet 
en América Latina y el Caribe. Este encuentro abierto estará enfocado 
principalmente en impulsar una mayor participación del Caribe en las 
áreas de trabajo prioritarias para LACNIC y en analizar temas 
relacionados con cuestiones de seguridad y políticas en la región.

El programa previsto incluye la realización de talleres técnicos sobre 
puntos de intercambios de tráfico (IXPs) y adopción de IPv6, así como de 
presentaciones institucionales sobre LACNIC y sus principales 
actividades que abarcarán, entre otros, temas como el desarrollo de 
políticas para la asignación de recursos Internet, cómo solicitar 
recursos (IPv4, IPV6), proyectos de fortalecimiento regional, mecanismos 
de participación, foros de discusión, etc.

El encuentro es gratuito y abierto a toda la comunidad de Internet.

LACNIC, en el marco de su política de apoyo a la comunidad regional, 
ofrece un número limitado de becas de asistencia financiera dirigidas a 
miembros de la comunidad de Internet del área de servicio de LACNIC que 
estén interesados en asistir al encuentro de Trinidad & Tobago.

The Latin American and Caribbean Internet Addresses Registry (LACNIC) is 
pleased to invite you to take part in the LACNIC-CARIBBEAN II meeting on 
July 16th and 17th 2009 at the Hyatt Hotel, Port of Spain (Trinidad and 
Tobago). This event will be held back-to-back with the Caribbean 
Association of National Telecommunication Organizations (CANTO) 25th 
Annual Conference and Trade Exhibition.

LACNIC meetings provide opportunities to discuss recently completed 
activities, initiatives and proposals with members and sector 
representatives, to construct and articulate collaborative efforts for 
Internet development and stability in Latin America and the Caribbean. 
The main purpose of this sub-regional meeting is to foster a greater 
participation of the Caribbean members in LACNIC priority work areas and 
to analyze topics surrounding security and policy issues in the region.

This two days meeting will comprise two technical sessions, one will 
address the issue of Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) and the other will 
concentrate on the topic of IPv6 addresses. It will also be the occasion 
for LACNIC to make a presentation of its institution and activities such 
as the development of policies for the assignment of internet resources, 
the IPv4 and IPv6 resources allocation, initiatives to strengthen the 
region, participation mechanisms, discussion forums, etc.

This event is free and open to all the Internet community.

As in previous years, and following with its policy of supporting the 
regional community, LACNIC will be offering a limited number of 
financial grants to members of the Internet community from LACNIC 
service region interested in attending the meeting at Trinidad & Tobago.

Le Registre d’Adresses d’Internet pour l’Amérique Latine et les Caraïbes 
(LACNIC) est heureux de vous inviter à participer à la rencontre LACNIC 
CARAÏBES II qui aura lieu les 16 et 17 juillet 2009 à l’hôtel Hyatt de 
Port-d’Espagne, Trinité et Tobago. La rencontre sera précédée par la 
25ème conférence annuelle de l’Association des Caraïbes des 
organisations de télécommunications nationales (CANTO).

Les évènements de LACNIC sont une opportunité pour discuter des 
activités récentes réalisées, des initiatives et propositions avec les 
membres et des représentants du secteur, avec le but de construire et 
d’articuler les efforts collaboratifs pour le développement et la 
stabilité d’Internet en Amérique Latine et les Caraïbes. Cette rencontre 
ouverte se concentrera principalement à la promotion d’une participation 
plus importante des Caraïbes dans les domaines de travail prioritaires 
pour LACNIC et à l’analyse des questions en rapport à la sécurité et aux 
politiques de la région.

Le programme prévu inclus la réalisation d’ateliers techniques sur les 
Points d’Échange de Trafic d’Internet (IXPs) et l’adoption d’IPv6, ainsi 
que des présentations institutionnelles sur LACNIC et ses principales 
activités comme, entre autres, le développement de politiques pour 
l’assignation de ressources d’Internet, comment demander des ressources 
(IPv4, IPv6), les projets de renforcement régional, les mécanismes de 
participation, les forums de discussions, etc.

La rencontre est gratuite et ouverte à toute la communauté Internet.

LACNIC, dans le cadre de sa politique d’appui à la communauté régionale, 
offre un nombre limité de bourses d’assistance financière dirigée à des 
membres de la communauté d’Internet de la zone de service de LACNIC qui 
soient intéressés à participer de la rencontre de Trinité et Tobago.
