El Registro de Direcciones de Internet para América Latina y el Caribe 
(LACNIC) se complace en invitarlos a participar del encuentro LACNIC 
CARIBE III que tendrá lugar del 13 al 15 de Julio de 2011 en el hotel 
Torarica de Paramaribo, Surinam. El encuentro será precedido por la 
Vigésimo séptima conferencia anual de Asociación del Caribe de 
organizaciones de telecomunicación nacionales (CANTO).

Los eventos de LACNIC son la oportunidad de discutir sobre actividades 
recientes realizadas, iniciativas y propuestas con miembros y 
representantes del sector, con el propósito de construir y articular los 
esfuerzos colaborativos para el desarrollo y la estabilidad de Internet 
en América Latina y el Caribe. Este encuentro abierto estará enfocado 
principalmente en impulsar una mayor participación del Caribe en las 
áreas de trabajo prioritarias para LACNIC y en analizar temas 
relacionados con cuestiones de seguridad y políticas en la región.

El programa previsto incluye la realización de un taller IPv6, así como 
presentaciones institucionales sobre LACNIC y sus principales 
actividades que abarcarán, entre otros, temas como el desarrollo de 
políticas para la asignación de recursos Internet, cómo solicitar 
recursos (IPv4, IPV6), proyectos de fortalecimiento regional, mecanismos 
de participación, foros de discusión, etc.

El encuentro es gratuito y abierto a toda la comunidad de Internet.

LACNIC, en el marco de su política de apoyo a la comunidad regional, 
ofrece un número limitado de becas de asistencia financiera dirigidas a 
miembros de la comunidad de Internet del área de servicio de LACNIC que 
estén interesados en asistir al encuentro de Surinam.

The Latin American and Caribbean Internet Addresses Registry (LACNIC) is 
pleased to invite you to take part in the LACNIC-CARIBBEAN III meeting 
from July 13th to 15th 2011 at the Torarica Hotel, Paramaribo 
(Suriname). This event will be held back-to-back with the Caribbean 
Association of National Telecommunication Organizations (CANTO) 27th 
Annual Conference and Trade Exhibition.

LACNIC meetings provide opportunities to discuss recently completed 
activities, initiatives and proposals with members and sector 
representatives, to construct and articulate collaborative efforts for 
Internet development and stability in Latin America and the Caribbean. 
The main purpose of this sub-regional meeting is to foster a greater 
participation of the Caribbean members in LACNIC priority work areas and 
to analyze topics surrounding security and policy issues in the region.

This two days and a half meeting will comprise an IPv6 workshop.  It 
will also be the occasion for LACNIC to make a presentation of its 
institution and activities such as the development of policies for the 
assignment of internet resources, the IPv4 and IPv6 resources 
allocation, initiatives to strengthen the region, participation 
mechanisms, discussion forums, etc.

This event is free and open to all the Internet community.

As in previous years, and following with its policy of supporting the 
regional community, LACNIC will be offering a limited number of 
financial grants to members of the Internet community from LACNIC 
service region interested in attending the meeting at Surinam.
