<DIV><FONT face=Arial>Working as a member of one or two multi-disciplinary teams
and under the guidance of a senior team member and/or Program Manager (PM), the
Program Officer:</FONT></DIV>
<UL>
<LI><FONT face=Arial>develops, monitors, manages, and evaluates small research
projects and RSPs; </FONT>
<LI><FONT face=Arial>can sign project approval documents up to $25,000 </FONT>
<LI><FONT face=Arial>with guidance from senior team members, is responsible
for a portfolio of <ACRONYM title="Program Initiative">PI</ACRONYM> projects
in the range of 20-35 projects and RSPs values at $5-7 million. </FONT>
<LI><FONT face=Arial>liaises with program colleagues in Ottawa and the
regional offices on issues of project development and management; </FONT>
<LI><FONT face=Arial>assists senior team members in identifying, developing
and managing <ACRONYM
title="International Development Research Centre"><ACRONYM
title="Centro Internacional de Investigaciones para el Desarrollo">IDRC</ACRONYM></ACRONYM>’s
contacts with other international agencies and Canadian institutions; </FONT>
<LI><FONT face=Arial>contributes to Centre-wide public relations efforts and
to knowledge dissemination and utilization, including participation in
<ACRONYM title="International Development Research Centre"><ACRONYM

public and scientific fora; </FONT>
