servidor L es uno de los
13 servidores originales de Internet en el mundo (diez de ellos
instalados en
Estados Unidos, dos en Europa y uno en Japón) y es administrado
por ICANN. Una
limitante tecnológica impide que los servidores originales sean
más de 13 por
lo que se desarrolló una técnica llamada anycast, que permite
crear clones de
esos servidores raíz (llamados espejos), los cuales una vez en
operación son
indistinguibles de los originales.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

style="font-size:12.0pt;
line-height:115%;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">El
acuerdo con ICANN permite
ampliar el proyecto +RAICES que desarrolla LACNIC desde 2004,
mediante el cual
se han instalado copias de servidores raíces en América Latina y
el Caribe para
mejorar el acceso a la red en el continente y contribuir de
forma relevante a
la estabilidad de internet en toda la región y a nivel global. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

proyecto +RAÍCES es un
ejemplo concreto de los esfuerzos de coolaboración
multistakeholder en nuestra
