CEO y fundador, Raúl Echeberría</small></small></h1>
<p> <i>Montevideo, 21 de abril de 2014</i>. El Presidente del
Directorio de LACNIC, Oscar Messano anunció hoy que el CEO de la
Institución, Raúl Echeberría, dejará su posición en LACNIC el
próximo 30 de junio.</p>
<p> Raúl Echeberría fue uno de los fundadores de LACNIC. Formó parte
del grupo inicial que comenzó a trabajar en la creación de LACNIC
en el año '98 y se integró formalmente al Directorio interino de
LACNIC en Julio del 2000, habiéndolo presidido hasta Noviembre del
2002. Luego de haber obtenido el reconocimiento formal como
Registro Regional de Internet (RIR), Echeberría fue nombrado como
Director Ejecutivo y CEO de la institución.</p>
<p> En estos años, bajo el liderazgo de Echeberría, LACNIC ha
logrado un crecimiento institucional muy importante y ha
desarrollado su capacidad de influencia aportando una voz de
América Latina y Caribe en el concierto de la Sociedad de la
Información.</p>
<p> LACNIC ha sido perseverante en todos estos años en la defensa de
un modelo de gobernanza abierto, participativo y transparente, y
en la defensa de los valores claves de Internet, con la visión de
que Internet sea una plataforma para el desarrollo económico,
social y humano y un catalizador en el ejercicio de los derechos
humanos.<br>

Instituição, Raúl Echeberría, vai deixar vago seu cargo em LACNIC
no próximo dia 30 de junho.</p>
<p> Raúl Echeberría foi um dos fundadores de LACNIC. Fez parte do
grupo inicial que começou a trabalhar na criação de LACNIC em
1998, e juntou-se formalmente à Diretoria interina de LACNIC em
julho de 2000, sendo o presidente até novembro de 2002. Depois de
a instituição ter sido reconhecida formalmente como Registro
Regional da Internet (RIR), Echeberría foi nomeado como Diretor
Executivo e CEO da mesma.</p>
<p> Nos últimos anos, sob a liderança de Echeberría, LACNIC alcançou
um crescimento institucional muito importante e desenvolveu a sua
influência através de uma voz da América Latina e o Caribe no
concerto da Sociedade da Informação.</p>
<p> Durante todos esses anos, LACNIC tem sido perseverante na defesa

na defesa dos valores chave da Internet, com uma visão da Internet

<h1> <small><small>LACNIC announces the departure of the
organization's founder and CEO, Raúl Echeberría</small></small></h1>
<p> <i>Montevideo, 21 April 2014</i>. Today, Oscar Messano,
President of LACNIC's Board of Directors, announced that the
organization's CEO, Raúl Echeberría, will be leaving his position
at LACNIC next June 30.</p>
<p> Raúl Echeberría was one of the founders of LACNIC. He was part
of the group that initially began working on the creation of
LACNIC back in 1998. In June 2000, he formally joined LACNIC's
Interim Board of Directors, which he chaired until November 2002.
After the organization obtained formal recognition as a Regional
Internet Registry, Echeberría was appointed Executive Director and
CEO.</p>
<p> Under Echeberría's leadership, LACNIC has grown significantly as
an institution and has developed its ability to affect and bring a
Latin American and Caribbean voice to the Information Society.</p>
<p> During all these years, LACNIC has tirelessly worked in defense
of an open, participative and transparent governance model and in
defense of the Internet's core values, always in line with the
organization's vision of making the Internet a platform for
economic, social and human development and a catalyst for the
exercise of human rights.<br>
