lanzan en conjunto
la iniciativa FORT, un proyecto técnico para fortalecer la
seguridad de ruteo y
proteger la libertad en Internet en la región de América
Latina y el Caribe.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

iniciativa se desarrolla con
el apoyo del fondo para el fortalecimiento de infraestructura
crítica del Open
Technology Fund, un emprendimiento global que busca proteger
la libertad de
expresión en Internet. El proyecto tiene por objeto hacer más
seguros y
resilientes los sistemas de enrutamiento mediante la promoción
de la certificación
de recursos utilizando RPKI, a través de la implementación de
un validador
desarrollado en conjunto por LACNIC y el NIC México. Asimismo,
la iniciativa buscará
reducir las vulnerabilidades del sistema de enrutamiento que
hoy impactan sobre
la seguridad de los usuarios y su libre acceso a información

Internet da América Latina e o Caribe (LACNIC) e NIC México
lançam
conjuntamente a iniciativa FORT, um projeto técnico para
fortalecer a segurança
de roteamento e proteger a liberdade na Internet na região da
América Latina e
o Caribe.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:107%" lang="PT-BR">A
iniciativa é desenvolvida com o
apoio do fundo para o fortalecimento da infraestrutura crítica
do <i style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal">Open Technology Fund</i>,
um empreendimento
global que busca proteger a liberdade de expressão na
Internet. O projeto visa
tornar os sistemas de roteamento mais seguros e resilientes
através da promoção
da certificação de recursos usando RPKI mediante a
implementação de um
validador desenvolvido conjuntamente por LACNIC e o NIC
México. Da mesma forma,
a iniciativa pretende reduzir as vulnerabilidades do sistema
de roteamento que
hoje impactam sobre a segurança dos usuários e seu livre
acesso às informações

American and Caribbean Internet Addresses Registry (LACNIC)
and NIC Mexico are
launching the FORT initiative, a technical project for
strengthening routing
security and protecting online freedom in the region of Latin
America and the
Caribbean.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span
style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:107%;mso-ansi-language:EN-US"
lang="EN-US">The
initiative is being implemented with the support of the Open
Technology Fund
for the strengthening of critical infrastructure, a global
enterprise that
seeks to protect freedom of expression on the Internet. The
goal of the project
is to increase the routing system’s security and resilience by
promoting RPKI
resource certification through the implementation of a
validator developed
jointly by LACNIC and NIC Mexico. In addition, the initiative
seeks to reduce
the routing system vulnerabilities that are currently
affecting user security
and their free access to information on the Internet.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span
style="font-size:12.0pt;line-height:107%;mso-ansi-language:EN-US"
lang="EN-US">During the first
part of the project, NIC Mexico and LACNIC's R&D
department —a team with
extensive experience in working with resource certification
software— will
develop an RPKI validator. The second part of the project will
include a
deployment campaign for using this route validation software
in at least four
countries or subregions. Because the most widely used
validator worldwide is
currently that of RIPE NCC, the creation of a new RPKI
validator will allow the
RPKI validation system to become more robust, therefore
increasing Internet
routing security.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
