y el Caribe (FRIDA)<strong> </strong>anuncia hoy en la Casa
de Internet de Latinoamérica y el Caribe la apertura de las
"Subvenciones FRIDA 2015" y los "Escalamientos 2015".<big><big><font
face="Calibri"><br>

<font face="Calibri">En la convocatoria a "Subvenciones FRIDA
2015" se podrán postular proyectos en dos modalidades
básicas y excluyentes: proyectos de investigación o
proyectos de Desarrollo TIC. Se podrán solicitar hasta un
máximo de USD 20.000 dólares americanos (veinte mil dólares
americanos) a ejecutarse en un plazo máximo de un año (12
meses).</font><small><small><br>
</small></small><font face="Calibri">Cada proyecto deberá
optar por una categoría temática específica dentro de la
modalidad elegida: a) Dispositivos, Infraestructura y
Tecnologías. Aceleración y expansión del acceso; b) Creación
y desarrollo de capacidades y contenidos para el Desarrollo
Humano Sostenible; c) Internet Móvil para la inclusión
social, el crecimiento, la participación política y la
ciudadanía activa; d) Internet para la promoción, garantía y
ejercicio de los Derechos Humanos y Libertades

La segunda convocatoria disponible, y en su segunda edición,
es el llamado a "Escalamientos FRIDA" que busca continuar
impulsando y apoyando iniciativas innovadoras para lograr un
impacto mayor y más allá de las fronteras de los proyectos.
Para acceder a estos fondos de escalamiento los proyectos
tendrán que ser el resultado de una asociación entre
organizaciones; una de ellas deberá haber recibido
financiamiento en anteriores convocatorias de FRIDA. Se
podrá solicitar hasta un máximo de USD 14.000 (catorce mil

<h1><small><small>FRIDA announces new funding for ICT projects
in Latin America and the Caribbean</small></small></h1>

<p>Today, the Regional Fund for Digital Innovation in Latin
America and the Caribbean (FRIDA) announced the opening of
two of this year's three calls for proposals: 2015 FRIDA
Grants and 2015 FRIDA Scaling-UP.</p>
The call for proposals for the 2015 FRIDA Grants program will
accept projects under two basic, mutually exclusive
categories: ICT research projects or ICT development projects.
Applicants may request up to USD 20,000 (twenty thousand US
dollars) to be executed in a maximum period of one year (12
months).<br>
Each project must choose one of the specific topics listed
within their selected category: a) Devices, infrastructure,
and technologies. Accelerating and expanding access; b)
Creating and developing skills and content for sustainable
human development; c) Mobile Internet for social inclusion,
growth, political participation, and active citizenship; d)
Internet for promoting, guaranteeing, and exercising Human
Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.<br>

As to FRIDA Scaling-UP, this is the second edition of this
program which seeks to continue strengthening and supporting
innovative initiatives so that they can achieve greater impact
and extend beyond the projects from which they originated. To
apply for these start-up funds, projects must to be the result
of a partnership between two or more organizations, one of
which must have already received funding as a result of a
previous FRIDA call for proposals. Each project may apply for
a maximum of USD 14,000 (fourteen thousand US dollars). The
