(RFC 9660: The DNS Zone Version (ZONEVERSION) Option) Message-ID: <99e0e223-0203-415e-8ab5-83ed215e2035@si6networks.com> Estimados, Adivinen que? Se publico un nuevo IETF RFC! (RFC 9660: The DNS Zone Version (ZONEVERSION) Option): https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc9660.html El mismo tiene como primer co-autor a Hugo Salgado (https://www.linkedin.com/in/hugosalgado/), de Chile. (congrats!) El Abstract del RFC dice: ---- cut here ---- The DNS ZONEVERSION option is a way for DNS clients to request, and for authoritative DNS servers to provide, information regarding the version of the zone from which a response is generated. The SERIAL field from the Start of Authority (SOA) resource record (RR) is a good example of a zone's version, and it is the only one defined by this specification. Additional version types may be defined by future specifications. Including zone version data in a response simplifies and improves the quality of debugging and diagnostics since the version and the DNS answer are provided atomically. This can be especially useful for zones and DNS providers that leverage IP anycast or multiple backend systems. It functions similarly to the DNS Name Server Identifier (NSID) option described in RFC 5001. Abrazo y congrats para Hugo (y agradecimientos por producir cosas en IETF desde la region!), -- Fernando Gont SI6 Networks e-mail: fgont en si6networks.com PGP Fingerprint: F242 FF0E A804 AF81 EB10 2F07 7CA1 321D 663B B494 From oscar en lacnic.net Sat Oct 12 11:02:52 2024 From: oscar en lacnic.net (Oscar A. Name: draft-ietf-6man-slaac-renum Revision: 08 Title: Improving the Robustness of Stateless Address Autoconfiguration (SLAAC) to Flash Renumbering Events Date: 2024-10-21 Group: 6man Pages: 18 URL: https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-ietf-6man-slaac-renum-08.txt Status: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-6man-slaac-renum/ HTMLized: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-ietf-6man-slaac-renum Diff: https://author-tools.ietf.org/iddiff?url2=draft-ietf-6man-slaac-renum-08 Abstract: In scenarios where network configuration information becomes invalid without explicit notification to the local network, local hosts may end up employing stale information for an unacceptably long period of time, thus resulting in interoperability problems. This document improves the reaction of IPv6 Stateless Address Autoconfiguration to such configuration changes. It formally updates RFC 4191, RFC 4861, RFC 4862, and RFC 8106.
