German cable operator Kabel Deutschland has started to use IPv6 as
standard for all broadband customers, according to heise online citing a
statement from the operator. This concerns existing and new customers
that have a broadband connection based on Docsis 3.0 plus routers
offered by Compal and Hiltron. The Kabel Deutschland Homebox (FritzBox
6300) modem needs a firmware update before IPv6 becomes the standard.
