Estimados,

Si alguno tiene acceso a alguna caja con Solaris, tal vez pueda ayudar....

Folks,

** Short version of the story: **

We have ported the IPv6 toolkit
<http://www.si6networks.com/tools/ipv6toolkit> to Solaris. There are two
areas in which we'd appreciate some help:

1) While we have done some preliminar (and successful) testing on "SunOS
solaris 5.11 11.1 i86pc i386 i86pc", we'd appreciate if anyone running a
solaris box could try the current version of the toolkit ("git clone
https://github.com/fgont/ipv6toolkit.git"), and let us know if
everything worked as expected.

If you like to help, but are not familiar with the toolkit and would
like t know specific commands that you could/should run, please let me
know at <fgont en si6networks.com>.

2) If you run solaris in production, and you think the toolkit would be
useful for your job, please do let us now. -- Essentially, if there's
interest, we could get a solaris package produced for the toolkit, such
that you can install and update it with the "pkg" command, as opposed to
having to manually build it. FWIW, the request to "let us know" is not
because we plan to send you a bill ;-), but rather because we will not
commit time to produce a solaris package if none is going to benefit
from it.

** Longer version of the story **

One of the items in our TODO list for the IPv6 toolkit
<http://www.si6networks.com/tools/ipv6toolkit> was to make it yet more
portable, and make it run on solaris.

If you wonder about the motivation ;-), I'd say:

a) Making the code run on more platforms tend to improve the quality and
robustness of the code.

b) The toolkit already runs on *BSD and Linux, and hence Solaris was one
of the obvious additional platforms to port it to.

After going through some pain (e.g., pcap descriptors are not really
select()able), we got everything up and running -- with the expected
effect of producing an overall code improvement. However, there are some
areas on which we'd appreciate your help:

1) While we have done some preliminar (and successful) testing on "SunOS
solaris 5.11 11.1 i86pc i386 i86pc", we'd appreciate if anyone running a
solaris box could try the current version of the toolkit ("git clone

Thanks!

Best regards,
