PREMIO TRAYECTORIA

LACNIC anuncia que la primera edición del Premio Trayectoria (2009) ha 
sido otorgada a la Sra. Ida Holz, Directora del Servicio Central de 
Informática de la Universidad de la República de Uruguay.

El Premio Trayectoria es una iniciativa de LACNIC para distinguir y 
destacar a aquellas personas que han realizado contribuciones relevantes 
al desarrollo de Internet y la Sociedad de la Información en la región 
de América Latina y el Caribe.

Además, en esta edición, el jurado ha decido conceder una mención 
especial a la investigadora Sra. Amy Mahan, como reconocimiento de su 
contribución al desarrollo de Internet, a pocos meses de su fallecimiento.

OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

LACNIC announces that the first edition of the Outstanding Achievement 
Award (2009) has been presented to Mrs. Ida Holz, Head of the Central 
Computer Service of the University of the Republic, Uruguay.
The Outstanding Achievement Award is a LACNIC initiative that aims at 
honoring and rewarding those individuals who have made significant 
contributions to the development of the Internet and the Information 
Society in the region of Latin America and the Caribbean.

In addition, the Judging Panel has decided to award a honorary mention 
to researcher Mrs. Amy Mahan in recognition of her contribution to the 
development of the Internet, just a few months after her passing.
