Hello all

I wanted to asked folks in general what they think about this current
Global Policy for ASN Assignment that does in blocks of 1024 ASNs for
32-bit ASNs.

I am not sure about the current growth rate of ASN Allocation in each
RIR, but 1024 each time from first sight may seem a small number given
the quantity available for 32-bits.
From the other side though and correct me if I am wrong, it seems that
IANA smartly left an "Unallocated" range after each RIR in order to
avoid fragmentation so all new allocations to each RIR are made from
that range. For LACNIC for example there are still slightly more than 50
thousand ASNs available.
From IANA website is possible to see that some previous allocations for
LACNIC have been made in doubles.

Therefore what do folks think about the current 1024 number for these
assignments if it is still suitable thinking ahead from now ?

Thanks
Regards
Fernando Frediani
