LACNIC y el NRO participan en la exhibición de la Cumbre Mundial sobre la 
Sociedad de la Información (WSIS).

Durante la 2da. Fase de la Cumbre Mundial sobre la Sociedad de la 
Información (WSIS), a realizarse en Túnez del 16 al 18 de Noviembre de 
2005, LACNIC participará con el NRO (Number Resource Organization) en el 
“Pabellón de Internet”, de la exhibición ICT4all.

El Pabellón de Internet, ubicado en el stand 1323,

agrupa a un número de organizaciones clave responsables del manejo diario y 
del desarrollo de políticas en el campo de Internet. Dentro de los 
co-exhibidores además del NRO, se encuentran: la Internet Society, IAB, 
IETF, ICANN, CENTR y LINX.

El propósito del Pabellón de Internet, es el de contribuir a que los 
participantes de la Cumbre Mundial (WSIS) comprendan el funcionamiento de 
los mecanismos actuales de gobernanza y cómo estos mecanismos se relacionan 
con las conclusiones presentadas en el Reporte Final del Grupo de 
Gobernanza de Internet (WGIG) y con los principios de la WSIS en general.

El Pabellón de Internet posibilitará el reconocimiento de la importancia 
esencial de un modelo de gobernanza colectivo y participativo para asegurar 
el éxito de Internet y el desarrollo de la Sociedad de la Información en el 
futuro.

El Pabellón de Internet actúa como un medio a través del cual los 
co-exhibidores e invitados consolidarán el rol trascendental de Internet en 
la promoción de la educación, el desarrollo económico, transferencia de 
conocimientos, etc.

La exhibición se llevará a cabo del 15 al 19 de noviembre en el Kram PalExpo.

LACNIC and the NRO taking part in the World Summit on the Information 
Society (WSIS) exhibition.

During Phase 2 of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), to
be held in Tunis November 16-18 2005, LACNIC will be participating with
the Number Resource Organization (NRO) in the "Internet Pavilion" at the
ICT4all exhibition.

The Internet Pavilion, on stand 1323,

brings together a number of the key organizations responsible for both 
day-to-day management and policy development in the Internet sphere. 
Co-exhibitors include the NRO, the Internet Society, IAB, IETF, ICANN, 
CENTR and LINX.

The purpose of the Internet Pavilion is to help the participants of the 
World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) understand how the existing 
governance mechanisms work and how these mechanisms relate to the findings 
of the Working Group on Internet Governance (WGIG) Final Report and the 
WSIS principles in general.

The Internet Pavilion will facilitate an understanding of why a 
collaborative and cooperative governance model is essential to the success 
of the Internet and the roll out of the Information Society in the future.

The Internet Pavilion will act as a medium through which the co-exhibitors 
and invited guests will reinforce the very important role that the Internet 
has in promoting education, economic development, knowledge transfer, etc.

The exhibition will take place from 15-19 November at the Kram PalExpo.
