Tomando como base diversas inquietudes relacionadas a temas de seguridad en redes realizadas en diferentes foros donde LACNIC ha participado y también en la lista de politicas at lacnic.net estamos abriendo un espacio para el análisis y debate de esta temática a través de la siguiente lista:

Adicionalmente y como resultados de las discusiones y sugerencias que se hagan en esta nueva lista se realizará en el marco de LACNIC IX una reunión presencial sobre seguridad en redes el día 24 de mayo del 2006 en la Ciudad de Guatemala.

Los objetivos de esta lista serán:

1.- Convocar en un solo foro aquellos actores interesados en la temática de seguridad en redes, coordinación de incidentes y creación de CSIRT'S.
2.- Debatir acciones concretas y proyectos de coordinación ante problemas de seguridad en redes para la región.
3.- Sugerir temas de interés para la comunidad y discusión de los mismos para la reunión de seguridad en redes LACNIC IX a celebrarse en Mayo próximo.

Para este fin Cristine Hoepers de CERT.br y Juan Carlos Guel de CERT-UNAM han accedido amablemente a moderar dicha lista. Esto será hasta la realización de elecciones para moderadores de este nuevo foro durante la reunión presencial en LACNIC IX. Las funciones de los moderadores será ayudar a canalizar la discusión, enfocar los debates y proponer los temas y agenda que se presentaran en la reunión presencial.

Tomando como base diversas dificuldades relacionadas a temas de segurança em redes realizadas em diferentes fóruns onde LACNIC tem participado e também na lista de politicas at lacnic.net estamos abrindo um espaço para a analise e debate deste tema através da seguinte

Assim será até a realização de uma eleição para moderadores do novo fórum durante a reunião presencial em LACNIC IX. AS funções dos moderadores será ajudar a canalizar a discussão, enfocar os debates e propor os temas e agenda que se apresentaram na reunião presencial.

NEW LIST NETWORK SECURITY

In view of the numerous concerns that have been heard at the different forums where LACNIC has participated in relation to network security issues and also on the politicas at lacnic.net mailing list, we are opening a space for analyzing and debating this subject matter at the following mailing list:

seguridad at lacnic.net

Additionally, in order to consider the results of the discussions and suggestions that will be received on this new list, within the framework of LACNIC IX, a face-to-face meeting on network security will be held in the city of Guatemala on May 24, 2006. 

The objectives of the new mailing list will be as follows:

1.- To bring together in one forum all those interested in network security issues, incident coordination and creation of CSIRTs.
2.- To debate concrete actions and coordination projects for the region to implement in case of network security problems.
3.- To suggest issues of interest to the community and discuss these issues in preparation for the LACNIC IX network security meeting to be held next May.

With these goals in mind, Cristine Hoepers of CERT.br and Juan Carlos Guel of CERT-UNAM have kindly agreed to moderate this mailing list. They will do so until voting is held for electing moderators for this new forum during the face-to-face meeting scheduled during LACNIC IX. The moderators' responsibilities will be to channel discussions, focus debates and propose the issues and agenda that will be presented at the face-to-face meeting.
