*FRIDA: financiamiento para fortalecer Internet en América Latina y el 
Caribe*

FRIDA, el Fondo para el Fortalecimiento de Internet en América Latina y 
el Caribe de LACNIC, anuncia su convocatoria 2020 
<https://bit.ly/2R3NBfJ>para financiar proyectos innovadores que 
promuevan la estabilidad, seguridad y apertura de la red en la región.

A partir de este año, FRIDA financiará proyectos en tres categorías: 
Estabilidad y Seguridad de Internet; Internet Abierta y Libre; y Acceso 
a Internet.

El proceso de postulación estará abierto hasta el 22 de mayo y se 
otorgarán premios de US$ 10.000 más una beca completa para LACNIC 34 y 
subvenciones por montos de entre US$ 10.000 y US$ 40.000. En total se 
prevén entregar US$170.000 en financiamiento a iniciativas que 
contribuyan a crear una Internet Abierta, Estable y Segura en América 
Latina y el Caribe.

financiar projetos inovadores que promovam a estabilidade, segurança e 
abertura da rede na região.

A partir deste ano, o FRIDA financiará projetos de três categorias: 
Estabilidade e Segurança da Internet; Internet Aberta e Livre; e Acesso 
à Internet.

Até 22 de maio está aberto o processo de candidatura, e serão concedidos 
três prêmios de US$ 10.000, bem como uma bolsa completa para o LACNIC 34

outorgar US$170.000 em financiamento para iniciativas que contribuam a

the Caribbean*

FRIDA, LACNIC's regional fund for strengthening the Internet in Latin 
America and the Caribbean, announces its 2020 call for proposals 
<https://bit.ly/2WZYuTH>in its search to fund innovative projects that 
promote Internet stability, security and openness in the region.

Starting this year, FRIDA will finance projects in three categories: 
Internet Stability and Security, Open and Free Internet, and Internet 
Access.

Applications will be accepted until 22 May. Three projects will be 
selected as the winners of this year's awards and will each receive a 
prize of US$ 10,000 plus a full fellowship to attend LACNIC 34. 
Likewise, approximately eight projects will receive grants consisting of 
US$ 10,000 to US$ 40,000. All in all, the project plans to award 
US$ 170,000 to fund projects that will contribute to create an open, 
stable and secure Internet in Latin America and the Caribbean.
