[Ietf-lac] IETF 88 - Fortaleceremos al Internet

La reciente reunión IETF 88 ha sido particularmente interesante. Los temas de seguridad y privacidad fueron abordados en varias ocasiones y en distintos contextos. Igualmente, la nota final del IETF Chair, Jari Arkko, fue "Fortaleceremos al Internet". 

 

Entre los eventos importantes, caben destacar:

 

-       Plenaria Técnica, con la presentación de Bruce Schneier (escritor para el periódico británico "The Guardian", miembro del "Center for Internet and Society - Harvard Law School") hablando de las lecciones aprendidas al haber tenido acceso a los archivos revelados por Edward Snowden.

-       Planes para incorporar seguridad integralmente en protocolos como HTTP y TCP.

-       Desarrollo de reglas más estrictas de seguridad para aprobar y publicar especificaciones (i.e. IETF RFCs) en el futuro.

-       Reporte del reciente Foro de Gobernanza de Internet (IGF) de la ONU en Bali y las discusiones acerca de la formación de un nuevo foro internacional de gobernanza de Internet "multi-stakeholder".

 

Algunos medios de comunicación han empezado ya a darle especial atención a las iniciativas tomadas en el IETF 88 (e.g. Economist <http://www.economist.com/news/science-and-technology/21589383-stung-revelations-ubiquitous-surveillance-and-compromised-software> ).
